International Road Transport Operations in Azerbaijan
Operational Activities
Cabotage
UK hauliers may carry goods to, through or from the country. However, cabotage is not permitted.
Dangerous Goods
There is no ADR agreement although for countries en-route, ADR requirements will apply. It should be noted that carraige of Dangerous
Goods attract seperate taxation according to the degree of risk the load poses.
Abnormal Loads
Special authorisation must be obtained if vehicles/loads exceed maximum permitted weights and dimensions. It should also be noted that an
additional tax is levied on all abnormal loads over 37 tonnes and is applicable to the weight in question.
Movement Restrictions
There are no driving restrictions on public holidays or weekends.
Road, Tunnel & Bridge Tolls
None applicable that we are aware of. However, we are aware of a Toll Road either under construction or completed which runs from Baku to
Russia, although we are unable to ascertain any further information on this.
Taxation
Road tax is applicable on all goods vehicles entering the country and payable at the border entry point.
Customs
Foreign Hauliers must obtain authorisation at the border to proceed into the country. TIR Carnets are accepted.

Documentation
Green Card required, plus original vehicle registration docs. A GB plate must be fitted to rear of vehicle/trailer.

Safety Equipment
It is NOT compulsory to carry snow chains or have winter tyres fitted. However these would be advisable.
Driver Requirements
Legal Documents
Full passport required and visa required which must be obtained in advance from the Embassy in London. Letter from employer giving driver
permission to drive vehicle - Attestation letter and form.
