Operational Activities
Cabotage
UK operators may carry loads to, from or through the country. However, we currently have no information regarding cabotage operations in
Montenegro and suggest that it should be considered as not permissable.
Dangerous Goods
Montenegro is party to ADR. It is essential that fully completed ADR documentation is prepared for the movement of dangerous goods.

Taxation
Fuel in the vehicles 'running tanks' can be imported duty free.
Customs
TIR Carnets are accepted for vehicles crossing Montegro. ATA Carnets are not recognised. CMR notes are advised.
Movement Restrictions
There are driving restrictions throughout the Road network at weekends and on public holidays for goods vehicles 7.5 tonnes and above,
with some local restrictions at lower weights.
National Restrictions
- Friday 12:00 to Saturday 05:00
- Sunday 12:00 to Monday 05:00
- From 12:00 the eve of a Public Holiday to 05:00 on the day following the Public Holiday
Local Restrictions
These restrictions are for vehicles of 5 tonnes and above.
- Saturdays' - 06:00 to 09:00 and 17:00 to 20:00
- Sundays' - 06:00 to 09:00

During July and August the above routes are the subject of restrictions on Fridays', Saturdays' and Sundays' from 15:00 to 20:00. This also includes the route Bioce - Kolasin

Road Tolls
Transit tax is payable by all foreign registered vehicles based upon weight. Drivers of all vehicles are required to purchase an
annual ecological tax (vignette) upon asrrival at border crossings.
Bridge and Tunnel Tolls
There is one toll tunnel - the Sozina Tunnel. It is on the E80 Podgornica to Bar with a toll for all vehicles exceeding 5 tonnes gvw.

Green Card required, plus original vehicle registration docs. A GB plate must be fitted to rear of vehicle/trailer. Authorisations are
required where bi-lateral agreements and transit operations are in place.

Safety Equipment
It is compulsory to carry the following items of equipment and/or observe specific rules:-
- First Aid Kit
- Warning Triangle x 2
- HI-Vis jacket
- Spare Bulbs
- Dipped Headlights are compulsory at all times
- Seat Belts must be worn
It is advisable to carry Snow chains.
Driver Requirements
Legal Documents
Full passport required but no visa required. International driving licence in addition to normal UK Licence.
Letter from employer giving driver permission to drive vehicle - Attestation letter and form. EU Hours rules apply.
