Quinn Transport Engineering Services (QTES) supplies a temporary work force for the road haulage industry, supplying qualified and
experienced HGV maintenance staff to cover shortfalls in a customers' work force due to sickness or holidays etc. This service is aimed
at haulage companies where absence of in house repair staff is critical to smooth running and fulfilling VOSA maintenance criteria.

Continued maintenance is a critical factor in ensuring full compliance at all times.
QTES can operate as your service provider, subject to the suitability of your site to carry out maintenance and repairs. We can provide safety inspections and MOT preps including RBT tests and where VOSA have imposed conditions, we can assist customers in achieving better standards and meet VOSA requirements.
Brake Roller Testing (On-Site Service) - Our mobile brake test service will give you accurate brake test information at your premises. No doubt you have put into place adequate maintenance arrangements and we do not wish to interfere with these or imply the service provider is less than competent in any way. However, if roller brake testing is not provided we can offer the service to you.
Very often the only contact a vehicle has with roller brake testing is at annual M.O.T or removal of PG9 or worse. Even if the vehicle is unladen, roller brake testing is far more accurate than hand held or tapley meters, often used by service providers which are the minimum VOSA requirement.
Our aim is to provide you with accurate information for you to use to reduce costs making our service cost neutral and provides evidence to VOSA of your commitment to safety. This is valuable to new operations and ventures.
Brake Testing Customer Information - We have a roller brake testing service for H.G.V AND P.C.V. Operators. The machine is a new B.M 20200 tester used by V.O.S.A. on roadside checks using a V.O.S.A. Data base for accurate testing of vehicles. We provide our customers with accurate brake test information to enhance inspections and services as recommended in the V.O.S.A Guide to maintaining roadworthiness section 5 2009 edition.
Quinn Transport Engineering Services will brake test vehicles, on-site laden or unladen. At your site, we will require a flat firm
surface with access to 3phase 32A 415V socket within 15 metres. Outside working is subject to climate and power supply. Diesel generated
power can be supplied at minimal extra cost.
We request that a driver shunter or fitter is present during the testing for movement of your vehicles. Previous test details would be an
advantage to ensure the same Department of Transport numbers are used. Units - trailer/draw bar are two vehicles therefore two tests
are required.
Our Rates are as Follows
- For all Contract Work, Holiday & Sickness Cover - £20.00 p/hr (From 6am to 6pm - All other times are £30.00p p/hr)
- Day Work and Individual Repairs - £25.00 p/hr (From 6am to 6pm - All other times are £30.00p p/hr)
- On-Site Brake Roller Tests - £30.00p per Test + Time taken at Hourly Rate
- Texa Diagnostics Testing - £45.00p per Vehicle + Time taken at Hourly Rate
